Javier Reyes’ (of AAL, T.R.A.M.) solo work. I think I actually prefer this over some AAL stuff. He has an EP out under the name Mestis and it is definitely worth checking out. Mind you, this is the only song featuring just guitar, the rest is a full band. (I’m only adding this in here because sometimes I wish it was just guitar and I’m assuming there’s someone that’s like that too… I could be wrong, I guess)
8 strings are taking over the death metal scene
With Big Chocolate getting a new custom made 8-string guitar, most likely for Disfiguring the Goddess, I think it is safe to say that 8-strings are taking over. They are new “it” thing. 8-strings go hard, so I’m excited. Bands that are/will likely be employing 8-strings are: Rings of Saturn, Animals as Leaders, Disfiguring the Goddess, Born of Osiris, Chelsea Grin, Periphery, The Black Dahlia Murder, to name a few.
